Roto Rainers
Rainer Irrigation cut its teeth with the design and manufacture of the famous RotoRainer. This leading boom irrigator is a familiar sight on many farms around Mid Canterbury and across New Zealand for over 30 years. There are over 4500 RotoRainers, and counting, of various models around the country.
The Roto-Rainer Irrigator is a low-pressure machine, which means that you can operate with lower powered pumps, resulting in cheaper running costs, as compared to the gun type irrigators. The Roto-Rainer performs a task by means of few and simple mechanisms. The reto-action of the water causes the boom to rotate for an even spread of water; and the rotation of the boom provide the motive force that propels the machine, using a series of lobes spaced around the central turntable to operate a simple lever mechanism to the wire rope winch drum.
