The experienced design team at Rainer Irrigation has five members who use computer software to hydraulically design and analyse projects to suit the client’s needs and maximise efficiency, whether it be irrigation, stockwater, effluent or sprinklers. The Design team will look at the water available, crop and soil type, application depth and rates. Consider all options and provide advice/feedback on reliability, capital cost, running costs, timeline and efficiency with the client’s best interest in mind. The Briggs model 10 and 15 effluent spreaders have been manufactured locally in Ashburton for decades, with over 3000 having been sold. These units are still the preferred way of spreading effluent for many farm owners, from one end of New Zealand to the other and across the globe.
These spreaders perform a complex task by means of a few simple mechanisms. The retro action of the effluent causes the boom to rotate for even spread of effluent. The rotation of the boom provides the motive force that propels the machine using a drive roller rotating around a series of cams which operates a simple lever mechanism to the wire rope winch drum. The machines are very robust and versatile with several speeds settings and both can be used for irrigation.
