As the water flows across the land so too does farming run in the blood of the Briggs family. For generations the family has been heavily involved in the South Island farming scene. Their unique understanding of the challenges facing the farming sector (and the vital solutions to these challenges) saw them become irrigation pioneers in the mid-Canterbury region.
When Rainer was started in 1989 it was a small company with big plans. Now, from an Ashburton base, the company serves the greater South Island, delivering successful irrigation projects from Southern Otago, up to Nelson, and everywhere in between.
To support our huge range and depth of stock we have the committed focus and experience of our team. Currently just shy of one hundred members, many of this team have been involved in the industry for decades. With this skill and understanding comes a level of support from start to finish that simply can’t be beat.
Which is just as well – as it can be an involved process. There is consent, coverage area, pump size and terrain type amongst the major issues, and a number of other important variables to consider. Creating greater efficiencies for our clients means staying at the vanguard of technology, and carefully evaluating the unique short and long-term needs of each and every farm.
With our size comes exceptional capability. But, of course, the family is still at the heart of the business. And at the family’s heart is a long-held passion for irrigation technology. This passion will undoubtedly run the company’s ongoing commitment to a future of innovative, cost-effective and environmentally sound water management.
